Walter Chin Biography
The glamorous world of Walter Chin: While Walter Chin was born in Jamaica, he spent most of his life in Toronto, Canada, where he attended art school. After studying painting, he discovered his passion for photography and film, and decided to pursue a degree in photographic arts. After graduation, he moved to Paris, where he began his career as a professional fashion photographer. In 1990, he moved to New York. With a career that spans almost 20 years, photographer Walter Chin has done shoots for virtually every top fashion magazine out there. He has published 4 books including “After Shoot” and “Work In Progress” which has been reprinted twice after 20 000 copies sold. He participated in two exhibitions in The International Center of Photography in New York and has had solo exhibitions in Germany, Canada and Italy; he has also participated in the celebration of the 30 Year Anniversary of Italian Vogue exhibitions in New York and Milan, Italy. His most famous photo is certainly the “Gisèle Bundchen” taken in 1999 which has been sold at the prestigious auction house of Christie’s for more than $16 000 over eight times its estimated value.
